The Winkler Community Foundation (WCF) provides over $100,000 in education awards annually to students from Winkler and the surrounding area who demonstrate a commitment to community by “giving back” through volunteering, achievement in education and/or a strong capacity for leadership.

The three categories of scholarships WCF offers for students planning to continue their education beyond high school are:

* Make it a Reality Scholarship:  $25,000
   * This award is meant to be a game-changer in assisting students to overcome barriers to accessing post-secondary education programs
   * Every year one award is distributed ($6,250 per year over 4 years)
   * Application deadline: February 28th

* Ongoing Support Scholarships:  $2,000
   * More than 13 awarded annually
   * Renewable for up to two years (for a total of $6,000)
   * Application deadline: February 28th

* Gordon Wiebe High School Graduate Awards: $2,000
   * This scholarship is applied for through your GVC and NPC high school student services office and awarded in June
